We have released our amazing routes for the 2021 Great South West Sportive which will take place on Sunday 12th September. With three superb interwoven routes to choose from, you can challenge yourself to part in the regions finest sportive with stunning scenery and support all round!
The route profiles are:
Short 52 Miles 2 Feed Stations 5000+ ft Climbing
Standard 76 Miles 3 Feed Stations 7500+ ft Climbing
Extreme 105 Miles 4 Feed Stations 10,000+ ft Climbing
Take on the Great South West Sportive and enjoy beautiful scenery, twisting descents and challenging climbs through iconic countryside and moorland and be part of the first ever cycling event to cross the Tamar Bridge! This cross county sportive caters for all, with fully supported and signed routes, our event has been designed and planned by cyclists for cyclists.
All three routes pass through our distinct South West countryside and a number of iconic landmarks including The Tamar Bridge. All of the routes will take on the famous Strava ‘Top 100’ climb of Rundlestone, known locally as Pork Hill. You will be able to re-fuel at our well stocked and strategically placed food stations along the way, each offering sweet and savoury goodies.
The Extreme route takes you on an additional 30 miles of picturesque Dartmoor, passing through the famous village of Widecombe in the Moor and down through the valley of The River Dart crossing at Dartmeet (and back up again!).
Relax knowing we have mechanical, medical and field support throughout the event helping you through your day, and of course don’t be caught by the broom wagon! Plenty of parking and facilities will be available at our Race Village hosted by Marjons University and our fabulous partners Dartmoor Brewery who host our main Food Station at their premises in Princetown, will provide you with a free Legend Ale at the end!
