NEW FOR 2019! We have released our new routes for the GSWS on Sunday 15th September which include an extra Short route of just 52 miles of stunning Westcountry scenery.

The route profiles are:

Short             52 Miles               2 Feed Stations + 1 Water Station            5000+ ft Climbing

Standard     75 Miles               3 Feed Stations + 1 Water Station          7600+ ft Climbing

Extreme      104 Miles            4 Feed Stations + 1 Water Station          11,000+ ft Climbing

Take on the Great South West Sportive in 2019 and enjoy beautiful scenery, twisting descents and challenging climbs through iconic countryside and moorland and be part of the first ever cycling event to cross the Tamar Bridge!  This cross county sportive caters for all, with fully supported and signed routes, our event has been designed and planned by cyclists for cyclists.

All three routes will pass through key stages including The Tamar Bridge crossing, a long climb from Horsebridge as you re-enter Devon and the famous Strava ‘Top 100’ climb of Rundlestone, known locally as Pork Hill.  You can re-fuel at our well stocked and strategically placed food stations along the way, each offering sweet and savoury goodies.

The Extreme route takes on an additional 29 miles of picturesque Dartmoor, passing through the famous village of Widecombe in the Moor and down through the deep valley crossing The River Dart at Dartmeet (and back up again!).

Relax knowing we have mechanical, medical and field support throughout the event helping you through your day, and of course don’t be caught by the City Bus broom wagon! Plenty of parking and facilities will be available at our Race Village hosted by Plymouth Argyle at their ground Home Park.  We are delighted to announce that Dartmoor Brewery will be hosting our main Food Station at their premises in Princetown, and a free beer will be waiting for you at the finish!

Don’t delay, get booking today for your space in this amazing event!
